vinyl86: Intern

No offense.

But I just saw the episode where a guy writes a letter to the mortuary and requests and internship. (I don't remember his name.)

And while I'm all for having internships for things you want to do in your life and experience and whatnot, this guy drove me nuts. I loved how he sucked up to everyone, but bringing sweets was just a little over the top. Plus I hated how he said everyone's name after he talked to them. He just seemed a little too sincere and--I felt bad, really I did--more than once the thought popped into my head that maybe he just wanted an internship to be on the show.

Hello fellow Family Plots fans! My name is Marla and I've been a fan of the show since the beginning.

This was posted on the yahoo talk list...

I wonder the date the picture was taken? It might be sooner than we think. The pic came from a 2004 article posted in signonsandiego.com. The article can be found here. It's a pretty good read since it talks about Rick's criminal past.

Gasp.

I haven't checked in awhile, but the last time I did, I didn't see a Family Plots community.

So, since I've found you, I joined :)

I love the show!!

tymothil: Looking for an episode

Hello, I have a question for this community. My grandmother was recently buried by the mortuary, and my family was one of the families on the show. However, I don't have cable. It was an episode that I believe would have aired about 3 weeks ago (my grandmother's name was Jean Haines). Did anyone see this episode? Since I don't have cable, I haven't really watched the show (my grandmother watched the first season regularly, and the mortuary is the same one that buried my grandfather), so I don't know how much of the show is the family that runs the mortuary, and how much is family of the week, as it were. Anyway, I'm just curious if anyone saw that episode, and how much of my family was in it, and if anybody by any chance taped it. Thanks.

byrthebb: Is tonight the last show of the season????

I'm going to have to ask my son to tape it for me as I have to work.
Does anyone know if they replay the show on different nights or even during the day?
The last show I was able to watch it looked like the group was fallin' apart. I wonder if they are going to stay together or if the show will continue? Looks like they have a lot of issues to work out.

Hi everyone! I just joined LJ and I'm really glad that there's a community for Family Plots. I'm the only person I know who likes the show, so I'm glad to know I'm not alone.

What did you think of Sunday's episode? I felt bad for Chuck. It seemed to me that the anger management therapist put all the blame on him and his daughters weren't held accountable at all. Especially Shonna-she can be such a bitch sometimes. I know he wasn't there for them when they were growing up, but I don't understand why Shonna would automatically take Rick's side. Why wouldn't Rick just pay him? She didn't punch in-big deal. It's not like Rick has a lot on his mind. He complained that he has to do the admin work because he doesn't have a human resources team. Geez Rick, you have 6 employees! What else would he do if he wasn't doing payroll? I've never seen him direct a funeral, help embalm a body, or drive a body anywhere. Why does he even come in, when all he does is drink coffee, smoke, fill out crosswords, and bitch with Shonna? I guess you can tell that I don't like him.

I totally agreed with Dave when he said (2 episodes ago) that these kind of blowups happen when management is too friendly with the staff. If she and Rick weren't best friends, would she be able to come in and bitch every day? She's never satisfied-it's either too busy or too slow! If she's really so dissatisfied with her job and threatened to quit, why didn't she? I think she just likes complaining. I loved how even she realized that Rick was wrong when he characterized her as being "non-confrontational".

Anyway, I like Shonna enough and I respect her work, but I would definitely respect her more if she would actually do it without complaining.

Hi, I am new to the community. I just love Family Plots, I watch it religiously on Sunday nights...forcing me to not watch my other fave, Law and Order: Criminal Intent. I am lucky enough to live in So.Cal...and work in Poway. I have seen both Shonna and Rick out and about...without the cameras.
